A massive thank you to everyone who made it along to the parents workshop last night. We had 20+ on the call and lots of questions which is really positive and hopefully left parents feeling more confident in our approach and how they can best support their managers.
I wanted to very quickly follow-up with some headline actions and reminders which came out as a result of the questions from parents who attended.
OUR COACHING APPROACH
We like to think that we do things slightly differently and offer our managers the best possible support, which in turn improves all our players' regardless of their age or ability.
We will support all players to develop lots of key skills to make them not only better footballers but young people as well. These core technical and social skills will include:
Scanning
Timing
Deception
Resiliance
Creativity
Independance
Achieving this is not easy, but we believe the best way to do this is to take a long-term approach to all players development, focusing our sessions on lots of small sided-games and practices that have realism and relevance to the game of football - you wont see many unopposed drills at our training sessions therefore.
You can find out more by reviewing the previously circulated 'Managers Handbook 2025' which provides even more detail.
STRUCTURING TRAINING
We have constructed a practice structure that compliments our coaching approach and helps maximise the time we have with our players.
The outline for each week's session can be found below and is a rough outline of what you can expect when you child arrives.

MANAGER VACANCIES
We have been interviewing potential new managers over the last few weeks and are currently in the process of contacting successful applicants to fill roles across the U9, U11, U12 and U16 teams.
As soon as our managers our inducted and able to start we will introduce them to the players, add them to the WhatsApp groups and you will start to see them at training very soon.
Are you interested in coaching? As discussed we are ALWAYS keen to hear from parents who wish to support the managers and/or take on the role themselves. We will provide you with appropriate mentoring to build your experience and confidence, as well as getting your the minimum qualifications you need.
Please contact myself or Ben if you wish to find out more.
ACTIONS FOR US
There were lots of questions from parents (which is great!) and that means we are committed to following up on a few things...
More regular parent communication - the consensus was that you wanted to hear from us about how we are doing things. We will achieve this through regular blog posts about our coaching and look to host another parent workshop once the season gets underway
Help you understand how you can support - there was a sense that parents wanted to know more about how they can help their managers. We will draft some communication related to matchday in particular, once the season gets underway.
If you have any questions at all, please come and speak to me at training and I will be happy to discuss with you.
